Our Master Wandmakers receive many questions by email each day. Unfortunately designing and creating our hand-made wands takes up most of their time and they are unable to answer each and every email with a personal response. For this reason we have posted the answers to our most common questions below.

If your question is not answered here please go ahead and Send us an Owl…we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible. If you haven’t received an answer to your question it may be blocked by a Spam Blocker. You may need to allow our emails to enter by adding to your address book.

1. Are your wands real – can they really perform magic?

This answer depends on the imagination and wizarding skills of each individual. Our wands are handcrafted of only the finest hardwoods and are made to be the only wand you will ever need…but no wand by itself is actually magical. True magic must come from within the wizard.

Discuss this question with your parents or other family members…they can many times be a great help when it comes to evaluating your individual skills and they may also be able to suggest some magic tricks to try!

2. Do your brooms really fly?

Unfortunately…they do not (though we very much wish they could!). They are intended for use as a role-playing toy or as a beautiful display piece. We encourage you to enjoy our brooms in many ways but again…please realize they DO NOT FLY!

3. What type of wand cream or polish would you suggest and where can I get some?

The use of wand cream is an important part of caring for your wand but you need to be sure to use a cream which will protect and care for the wood. We have developed our own wand cream and it is included with the Alivan’s Premium Wand Care Kit. The cream should be applied lightly and will go a very long way when rubbed in the direction of the wood grain. This will give your wand maximum absorption and protection.

4. I don’t have a credit card and I would rather not purchase via the Internet…is there another way to purchase a wand?

Certainly! We also accept Cashier`s Checks and Money orders as payment options…the purchasing process works the same as if you were purchasing by credit card. During the checkout process you will have the chance to choose either Credit Card or Money Order as your payment option. Simply choose Money Order and then follow the steps to completion. A final confirmation page with all details for sending payment will be displayed at that time and you will also be emailed the information. We will ship your wand within 1-2 days of receiving your payment by your preferred shipping method.

5. Do you sell or know of any good spells or spell books to use with my wand?

At this time we do not offer any spell books for sale. We do recommend that you check all the Wizard Bookstores (or a Barnes and Noble…Borders, etc.) in your area though, as there are many good spell books available. And remember…our wands work with good spells only!

6. Do you have a store…or where can I buy your wands?

Our wands are currently available in select stores in both the U.S. and Canada – see the list of stores here and find a retailer near you!

7. Do you ship your wands outside of the United States to International destinations?

Yes…most definitely! Though it is important to note that payment MUST be in US Dollars. 8. Are you going to be coming out with new wand designs and wood types in the near future?

Yes…we are always planning and designing new wands and we currently have four models in the prototype stage. These wands will be part of our upcoming Majestic Collection and will includes wand display stands as well.

9. If I win the free wand giveaway…do I have to pay for shipping?

If you are the free wand winner your wand will be shipped to you completely free of charge. There is no cost whatsoever!

10. What is your return policy?

As a general rule we offer a no questions asked 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied we will issue a full refund as long as the product is returned within 30 days. Only in rare circumstances where products can not be put back into stock or have been used/worn or similar will this policy be altered. Also, in circumstances where products have been used or damaged before returning a restocking fee may be charged.
